Sea Turtles, Shore birds and Sea birds

Sea Turtle At our January meeting we had a visit from Suzanne Derheimer and
Alexandria Grant, Environmental Biologists from the Charlotte
County Community Services, Parks and Natural Resources
.
We learned all about sea turtles and shore and seabirds.
We also learned about the importance of sharing our beaches
with these beautiful animals.  Did you know that sea turtles lay
between 75 to 150 eggs numerous times during their nesting
and hatching season May 1st-Oct. 31st on our beautiful beaches.
Shorebirds and seabirds nest directly on the sand from
February 15th to August 31st.

PLEASE DON'T DISTURB THEM.
